The 31st Edition of the Egypt Energy Exhibition and Congress kicked off today at Egypt International Exhibition Center, under the patronage of the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy, The Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Trade & Industry.

The event will extend for 3 days from 30th of October until 1st of November 2022, and is held under the theme of "Confident in transitioning into a sustainable future". Eng. Osama Asran, Deputy Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Dr. Ali Abu Sunna, Head of the Environmental Affairs Agency, inaugurated the event and the 1st day witnessed an attendance of more than 2000 energy experts from more than 45 countries.

Alongside the exhibition, the 1st day of the congress saw a number of discussion panels and key speeches around power generation and transmission & distribution and egypt electrical interconnection projects which were moderated by Dr. Ayman Hamza, the official spokesperson from the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy. The panels also discussed other topics regarding cooperation between Egypt and African countries, women empowerment in the field of energy, the strategy of localizing the industry and its positive impact on cable companies.

Azzan Mohamed, Director of Energy Exhibitions at Informa Markets, said: “The 31st Edition of the Egypt Energy Exhibition and Congress normally gets a lot of attention, especially that the exhibition includes more than 120 exhibiting companies from 12 countries as well as a notable participation from countries in the Middle East including United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We are also expecting around 6,500 experts in the field of energy throughout the three days of the event.

The exhibition will also cover many topics related to the implementation of the national energy strategy, which is based on several aspects, the most important of which is ensuring energy security, by providing the required energy while maintaining the desired growth rates, and increasing the contribution of the energy sector to the gross domestic product. In addition to maximizing the use of local energy resources, reducing energy consumption and its rates for all sectors, in order to reduce the level of emissions and pollutants and their environmental impact.” Azzan added.

The panels will continue over the next two days, with the second day beginning with Dr. Ali Abu Sunna, Official spokesperson from the Ministry of Environment and CEO of the Environmental Affairs Agency. It will include panels on the global future of Net Zero Concept, challenges and opportunities in the industrial sector, renewable energy projects in Egypt (wind & solar energy,) Energy and contribution to climate change adaptation, and Renewable Energy in Egypt and MENA Region.


The third day will begin with a word from Muhammad Ali Muhammad Younes, Director of the Solar Panels Production Factory and Deputy to Chairman of the Board of Directors of Benha Electronic Industries Company, on the role of the Ministry of Military Production and its subsidiaries in the field of energy and strategic projects.

There will also be discussion panels on a number of topics from foreign investments in Egypt, moderated by Engineer Ramy Moussa, Head of Egyptian-German Project on Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and climate change at the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy. Along with another discussion session on public-private partnerships and financing the energy sector in Egypt, and plenary panels on SMEs and Youth Leaders in Energy Sector in Egypt. There will also be a sub-event within the congress about the Suez Canal Economic Zone General Authority (SCZONE.)
